Competition day is done and all the chalk is dusted up so it is time to say thank you to all that attended, lifted, and helped! It takes a village to hold a competition and we are always so grateful to everyone for mucking in, whether it be by judging, lugging about equipment, setting up, cleaning up, running score sheets around, running the counter system, ensuring lifters are where they needs to be, posting social media posts, offline admin work, announcing/Dj’ing, taking photos, the list is endless, and of course not forgetting the lifting itself!

We were lucky to have two very talented photographers in attendance to capture the day: Del Wilson, who forewent his own lifting in order to take photos over the course of the event, and Andrew Bellamy who manage to squeeze in some photo-taking between his return to the platform in both the snatch event and the Halloween relay alongside the rest of his team “The old farts” Links to the full photo albums are below:

On to the results, a full list of results can be found here: British Championship 2022 results, and several UK records were set over the course of the day, the results will be checked against the existing records and updates made imminently however there is one result we wanted to give a special mention: Liga Latkovska set a new overall female 2x24kg biathlon World record of 205.5 points (108 jerk & 195 snatch) beating Kim Fox’s existing record of 204.5. The snatch flight of this list was a top class event and saw 4 women representing 4 countries (Latvia, Norway, USA and Scotland) fighting it out, with 3 lifting over 150 reps, world class lifting!
